We are halfway through the year now and the intense and far-reaching effects of the Planets may be calling you to slow down, take stock and review your plans. There are lots of astrological connections happening which are paving the way for the next 5, 10 and 20 years. So, even if you are not aware of your personal astrology, it may be helpful to know what themes you are currently experiencing. Whether these are challenging or exciting or are threads that could either inform your future. These would then be themes that deserve development, or if there are issues which are all “up in your face” at present. In that case remember, the Universe wants you to see it’s time to move beyond them.
How to Manage Your Energy Differently
In noticing these themes, you are already on the path to successfully creating the life your Soul wants for you. When we are at pivotal points on the journey, we are also asked to manage our energy differently. Working as I do, with many light workers and people on their path, I have become increasingly aware this year of the theme of energy sensitivity versus engagement in the world is more and more relevant.
Those of us who have a natural ability to sense energy and be aware of other people’s vibes, possibly have had to learn ways over the years to protect yourself. To protect your energy, so that you are not overwhelmed by others’ emotions and experiences. The term “empath” has certainly become widespread, but as with any label it’s really more complex than it may appear. I have worked with many clients whom I would describe as ‘high functioning empaths’.
What is a High Functioning Empath?
What this tends to mean is that they are out in the world, in visible and often demanding situations and they enjoy what they do. They may come across as confident, capable and friendly. They are often very adept at handling situations where there is pressure or demands on them, yet they thrive and also support those around them.
Often, empaths are viewed as people who are ‘just too sensitive for the world’ and are encouraged to protect themselves from it. I have learnt myself over the years, that the sensitive core of my being actually wants to have its expression in the world. It’s in fact a huge part of my life purpose, to share this part of me with others. I allow my sensitivity to guide me in finding the situations and people who will benefit most from it.
This has led me to experiment over the years with ways to keep myself and my energy strong, rather than weighed down, when Earth’s energy or other people are intense. I have learned how to build my light body, so it radiates and reflects light and I do not have to switch off or retreat from service.
Client Sessions for Empaths
I have come to see that the energy work I offer through my sessions with clients has two main roles:
Firstly, in assisting you to connect in with and develop aspects of yourself that the soul desires to express in the world. And secondly, to help you create and maintain a body of light that enables your gift of sensitivity to be strengthened and recharged naturally, without a need for you to retreat from the world constantly to fill your cup. This is still an important skill we all need to apply in our lives – resting and recharging. It’s a skill that will always be evolving and shifting to meet our needs at any given time.
Please don’t expect it to be a one size fits all situation or even a rigid routine you set for yourself. What I’m sharing here is the realisation that sensitivity is a superpower. Those people who have it are supposed to be able to master it so it’s not a burden to them, but actually assists in their Souls’ journey.
