Integration: The solution to overwhelm
Why are we all so obsessed with understanding everything? – The Modern Dilemma.
Welcome to my first blog in a long while. I have been through a lot of creative surges in my work including two website redesign processes over the last 12 months and ever since I launched my podcast “10,000 hours…and counting” I have been allowing it to act as my blog. This has been a really rewarding experience, because using my voice is a big part of the way in which I offer my healing work in one to one and group sessions. However, I also wanted to get back into the writing too, so, what I want to muse upon here is the process of “Integration”.
Integration, a broad topic
For those who are sensitives, emotionally and spiritually intelligent people, how do we find the way to keep going and not burn out with all the intensity that is arising both in the external world and within our own beings at this unprecedented and transformational time on Earth?
We need to learn how to rest the mind, which does act as a processing unit, but quite often needs to be retrained away from its desired role as the captain of the ship and into a more supportive role within our whole system so that it can support and retain the integration.
What I have learnt on my journey, is that it is paramount to allow my body the time and space to sit with everything, be it uncomfortable emotions, or new learnings and information, or even the new and positive experiences that come with another spiral on the path.
The Body as your teacher
The body needs to be in the drivers’ seat, especially during this time of information overload. This will give us the capacity for integration, to slow the mind down and allow it to become clearer. To become less driven and future striving, more present and connected to the now, to the body. Then, we are more able to distinguish between what our system needs to ‘digest’ and also jettison, in order to create harmony and healing in our life. As each person takes personal responsibility for their healing journey, this positively, vibrationally affects the whole of the earth.
A “Soul Gardening” Metaphor
It’s like in gardening, please join me in a metaphorical garden scenario as I elaborate this point on the importance of integration. Say you planted some seeds in the depth of winter. Some flowers and vegetables do benefit from being sown in the cold. Perhaps you invest in a special cover to keep off frost and any unwanted pests. Now the seeds are prepared, on their journey but you feel compelled to keep a vigilant watch on them.
You may notice a bird fly by and start thinking ‘‘oh no, it may have landed on the cover and caused a rip or tear” So, you go and check, but it’s all fine. Then, the next day you may start to wonder if maybe some frost has affected the seeds. You go out and check, lifting the cover (again) and disturbing the ecosystem you have begun. And so, in trying to perfect the growing process, you keep exposing the seeds or shoots to the weather and this then stunts their growth it might not kill them outright, but it obstructs the natural process.
Do you see where am I going with this garden analogy?
Some things need darkness to grow. The process is the rushed by over care or handling. We do not create better outcomes by forcing things. Our current society is geared towards an interfering style of living. Add more, do more, say more, learn more. This is an imbalanced view. We need light and dark, yin and yang. Time to rest and integrate, or the intake will never actually nourish you or grow to its full potential. Knowledge becomes wisdom when it is lived.
If you are feeling this pressure now, of too much going on, can you Take a leap? take your hands off switch your mind off. Hold the intention to become empty, not to be in a deficient way but, empty, open and spacious enough to allow for real (lasting) growth.
Also resist the urge (for a short time) of looking for patterns and signs and interpreting these (negatively usually), be willing to sit with the unknown. Be willing to trust the natural process Let your body show what it needs. This is not a mental process, don’t try to tell your body what it needs, don’t impose your mind “stories” on it, or pick up the latest fad in rest, stress relief or meditation. Tuning inside the self where things are felt, not known or understood connects you to the frequency of Hope, which says that anything is possible if nothing is certain.
Integration Guidance from my lived experience
Just Let go.
>Breathe.
>Pray, if you are moved to but make sure you are not directing the prayer or colouring it with any agenda. Just share your heart most prayer … and then trust it has been heard by the Universe.
>Your body and system are resetting from a Fight or Flight response.
>Use your gift of sensitivity, but make it work for you, otherwise you are burning up your own potential to be reborn and to experience new life.
Stay patient and trust in the process and the wisdom of the body and the earth element which governs it.
No thinking, just being.
No “reading of the bones” or forecasting.
Just breathe.
Allow the Mind to soften and open;
It doesn’t have a job right now
Except to relax.
Is this a little scary? Does a part of you resist it?
Good, then this is your current growth edge. This is the best practice to practice. If we want different life experiences and results, then we need to give our soul the reins. We let the soul and the body work together, with the mind just floating along in the background. I will give it a task, to distract it long enough for the work to get done. You could assign it the task of “Watching the Wheels” or actually singing that John Lennon song!
PS Look out for the November edition of the podcast for more guidance and heart musings. In the meantime, let’s connect if you want to book a soul mentoring and esoteric acupuncture energy alignment.
Love and Light,
Laura
