Honouring the old year and opening to the new (incoming)

In this final blog for 2023, I felt guided to write a little about the power of seasonality, the cycles of the natural world and how harnessing this ancient wisdom can deeply support and nourish you on your life’s path.  If you are alive on earth, then you are subject to her natural cycles.

Therefore, no matter what beliefs systems you may hold to, the end of a year and the beginning of a new one, both have different frequencies. They obviously also have very different weather and collective experiences which are measurable by even material world standards.  From an energetic viewpoint, your journey through a year will have had movement and flow as well as time to integrate and rest. No matter what the actual seasons are doing, or the collective landscape, each of us has our own personal peaks, troughs and times of plateau.

We cannot simply be “on” all of the time. We don’t need to be, it’s often in the downtime or rest periods that the “new” opportunities or situations can be drawn into your world.  It can be helpful to look back at where you have been over the course of a year and then open up to where you may be going (literally, or energetically) in the upcoming year. 

The guidance I have repeatedly been receiving for my clients (and myself) this year is this – Earth needs your light. What are the light filled practices you can incorporate into your daily life to light up your energy centres and radiate?  These forms of self care or ‘energy management’ are vital to keep your physical body and your energy bodies healthy and balanced.

If you want to do more, be more and offer the world your light in any way then you absolutely have to start with giving to yourself.  For the energy sensitive among us, having an awareness of how, when and where we are affected by energy either positively or negatively can help us to create and tailor to our ever changing needs. (and really, today, so many more people have opened up to a finer frequency awareness than ever before so this applies to us all).  

In order to have access to more of your own energy and potential then receiving an energy clearing session or creating an energy cleansing ritual can also empower you in creating space between what has been and what can be. The power of possibilities!! 

This is not to say that you necessarily need a vision or plan for the upcoming year, in fact at this time on earth, we are in flux in ways that have not been possible before and you may be feeling the need to open up to the Universe a little more. It’s sort of like giving a permission slip to the Divine to move you internally and externally to where you can give and receive the most benefit.

I like to use the lyrics from a recent U2 song to amplify this mantra “Get out of your own way” or, more poetically perhaps “I let go and I let God”. Choose your flavour, but make surrender your intention. Let your Soul and not your mind move you.
